5 Easy Green Smoothie Recipes for Beginners

Green Smoothies are a great way to consume leafy greens such as spinach and kale, and if you are new to green smoothies the following combinations are an easy way to start. When it comes to green smoothies the options are endless, as you can add a variety of greens and blend them with your favorite fruits and vegetables. So all a Green Smoothie really is, is a smoothie which consists of leafy greens, fruit/veg and your preferred liquid base (water, fruit juice, milk, yogurt, soy milk, rice milk, green tea or freshly squeezed juice. Just note, sometimes a Green Smoothie may not actually be green, especially if you are blending mixed berries into to it. Here’s 5 green smoothies for beginners – you can use fresh or frozen fruit. You may want to add ice cubes if using fresh fruit to have your smoothie extra chilled.spinach-grape-smoothie1) Spinach Grape Smoothie
1.5 cups of water
1 cup green grapes
1/2 apple
1.5 cup fresh spinach
1 banana

Method:
Pour water into a blender. Then add apples (cut into chunky pieces) and put the rest of the ingredients on top. Blend until smooth. Serve and Enjoy!

1.5 cups green grapes
1.5 cups water (or other liquid)
1/2  kiwi fruit, peeled
1/2 apple
1/2 cup cucumber
1 slice lemon, peeled

Method: Pour water (or other liquid) into a blender. Then add banana (cut into big chunks) and put the rest of the ingredients on top. Blend until smooth.

1.5 cup kale
1 cup blueberries or black berries
1.5 cups water (or other liquid)
1 banana
1/2 cup strawberries

Method: Pour water (or rice milk) into a blender. Then add banana (cut into chunky pieces) and put the rest of the ingredients on top. Blend until smooth.

kiwi-kale-smoothie4) Kiwi Kale Smoothie
1 cup  kale
2-3 kiwi fruits, peeled
1.5  cup water (or other liquid e.g. coconut water)

Some people may be allergic to kiwi fruit, so if you aren’t used to them it may be an idea just to try a little bit first to see how your body reacts.

Method:
Pour water into a blender. Then add kiwi fruits and kale. Blend until smooth. Serve and enjoy.

1.5 cup kale
1 green apple
1.5 cups pineapple
1.5 cups water

(add a few leaves mint, optional)
